I’m not sure why, but I never like the Kate or Claire-focused episodes.
In our parallel reality format for season 6 we see Kate on the run misbehaving once again.
In the non-crash version of her life, she pulls the old “I need to go to the bathroom” trick to flee from that annoying marshal. She steals his gun and hijacks a taxi which just happens to have a very pregnant Claire in the back seat. After commandeering the cab, Kate dumps Claire, steals her bag and finds a kind mechanic to bust her out of handcuffs. There she discovers pictures of Claire in the bag and realizes that Claire is pregnant. She finds Claire on the side of a road, hello, no traffic on LA streets??? Claire goes into labor and Kate takes her to the hospital. Creepy Ethan from the Island is also her Dr. in this parallel universe.
Back on the Island Kate leaves the temple allegedly to find a dejected and bitter Sawyer who escaped earlier. Jin and two of the others go with her but in due time she pulls her ninja moves and leaves them. Meanwhile as Jin heads back to the Temple a crazy ass, rifle-toting Claire emerges from the Jungle and shoots the others after Jin is captured by one of her bear traps.
Besides the girl power in this episode…
Kate sneaks up on Sawyer in the old Dharma village. He is looking through a box of knick-knacks and pulls out the sorry looking engagement ring that he was going to give Juliet. Now where do you buy an engagement ring on the Island exactly?
Meanwhile back at the temple our fearless leader gets the bad news that Sayid is alive and proceeds to torture him to find out what he already knows. Sayid is “infected.” We also discover that Dogen pretends that he doesn’t speak english so he can “create separation through language.” HAHA I pulled that stunt in Italy when I was too tired to give up my bus seat to an old, but very sturdy lady… “No Hablo?”
Dogen guilt trips Jack into giving Sayid “medicine,” but the jokes on him when Jack swallows the “medicine” in front of Dogen. Dogen freaks out and gives Jack the Heimlich maneuver. Yup, the “medicine” was actually poison. Dogen said that Sayid is “claimed” just like Jack’s sister, Claire.
Claire who has been missing for sooooo many previous episodes appears as a gun-toting crazy person. This can’t be good. She recognizes Jin, though. Whew!
