We once again turn to the man who calls himself “Sawyer” for one of the most boring episodes yet.

After his personal space is invaded by a boar, Sawyer is determined to track it down and kill it with the gun he still has from episode 15. His failed attempts are interspersed with dreams about his past and we get a little more info about why he is so annoying. He was determined to track down the man (real Sawyer) who he feels was responsible for the deaths of his parents when he was child. One of his unscrupulous buddies, a man named “Hibs” informs him that the guy is running a roach coach in Australia selling stir-fried shrimp. Fake Sawyer buys a gun and tracks him down. After killing the guy he finds out that it wasn’t real Sawyer afterall and that he was just set-up to kill a man that owed Hibs money. SawyerFAIL.

Meanwhile back at the jungle, Sawyer and Kate (who is helping Sawyer track the boar) run into John “Yoda” Locke who makes them a cup of coffee and tells them a story about his dead sister returning as a dog to comfort his mom. He makes Sawyer think that the boar is just a person who is coming back to make peace with him in some way. Oh Locke, why are you so awesome?

Sure enough, when Sawyer confronts the boar with his gun, he doesn’t have the heart to kill it.

Oh, boy, this episode was a snoozer. Here are a few more revelations:

kate-aKate and Sawyer camp out in the Jungle while looking for the boar. Sawyer breaks out the airplane booze that he has been saving and challenges Kate to a game of “I never..” They both find out that they have killed a man.

jack-aWhen Sawyer returns the gun to Jack he realizes that the man he had drinks with right before he killed that Shrimp stir-fry cook was actually Jack’s father. Sawyer doesn’t tell Jack that he knows his father was a lush or that he met him.
