Continuing where we left off in episode 10, Claire and Charlie have apparently been kidnapped by bug-eyed “Ethan.” A guilt-ridden Jack freaks out and bolts into the jungle to find them interspersed with flashbacks about having to turn his booze bag doctor father in for malpractice.
Back at camp, cool cucumber John Locke forms a posse (Kate and Boone) to follow him and rescue the kids. After catching up with Jack, they split into pairs to follow two different trails. Since Kate is more macho than Boone, she teams up with Jack who is not his usual levelheaded self.
After a brief encounter with creepy Ethan who smacks Jack around something fierce, Jack and Kate eventually find Charlie hanging from a tree with a noose around his neck. He appears dead, but through the magic of television, Jack resuscitates him. Then they go back to the camp WITHOUT CLAIRE???
Meanwhile Boone and Locke find a mysterious metal platform in the jungle.

Boone and Locke leave strips of red fabric to mark their trail in the Jungle so they won’t get “lost.” Boone asks Locke if he remembers how on Star Trek all the guys in red shirts always get killed. Let’s keep this in mind for future episodes.
Michael is feeling left out because Locke didn’t invite him on the search party.
Walt is kicking ass in backgammon and has incredible “luck” with the dice.
Kate’s Dad was in the military. She learned tracking skills from him on their deer hunting trips.
Claire is still missing. That baby is doomed, or will become a demon seed.
