After trekking out alone, Sayid discovers a cable coming from the ocean leading to the jungle. Could it be… cable television? No, it’s just a trap set by a crazy french woman that snares him like a wild boar. French woman? Hell yes! Ladies and gentlemen, meet Danielle Rousseau, mad scientist and castaway for 16 years on “LOST” island.
She lives underground in a well appointed bunker that has obviously left her bonkers. She seems to be an expert at torture with electronic devices and has a well stocked cabinet of meds. Sayid is kept captive, electrocuted, and chained to a bedpost (which we eventually discover is poetic justice.) He finds out that she was part of a scientific expedition whose boat crashed here over 16 years ago. One by one she killed her associates and child to put them out of their/her misery. She is a total wacko. Fortunately Sayid convinces her that he can fix her broken music box, (you heard me!) which gives him an opportunity to escape with a handful of maps after she ventures out to kill “whisperers.”
Anyway… In other news, Hurley finds a set of golf clubs and open a country club that leaves everyone very very happy.
More below including Sayid’s backstory.
So we find out a bit more about Sayid’s career credentials in the Republican Guard. He was a rising star and expert “interrogator” until an old flame of his shows up in prison and he has to break her. Eventually she ends up dead and once again he is feeling dread and remorse about his skill set.
We still don’t know why he was on the plane. hmmm….
Sawyer is trying to fit in. He goes to the golf course to heckle Jack and Kate gets a warm and fuzzy feeling all over.
Jack proves once again that he is a doctor by showing off his golfing skills and can sense that Kate and Sawyer have a thing for each other. Poor sap.
9 down and 15 more to go for Season 1. Heaven help me…
