It looks like we will be getting the backstory on one character per episode. Today it’s Charlie. He seemed creepy and untrustworthy in the first episode, but I guess he was just a failed rock star junkie. I always have such a difficult time differentiating “creepy and untrustworthy” with “junkie and rock star.”

Actually he was just a good Catholic boy that got off track by his druggie poser rock star brother when they were in the band “Driveshaft.” Of course we find out in his flashback that the brother eventually became a boring preppie, home-owning breeder who didn’t want to join Charlie on a reunion tour in LA. So typical. Once you have kids, it’s all over…

In other news, Sayid continues to try to engineer a radio device to transmit a signal in order to be rescued. While he is out with his radio he is knocked out cold with a stick behind the head just as the radio begins to work. I’m pretty sure it was Lock, since he is the only one who seems to be loving this Island. Who can blame him.

More updates below:

back-childOK I think I’m getting the names straight now. The child’s name is “Walt” and his father’s name is “Michael.” Whew! Gotta remember that.

Walt also seems to be liking the Island and asks his father if they can live there. Well kid, on this Island, dreams do come true.

black-manAfter Jack and Charlie get trapped in a cave we discover that Michael worked 15 years in construction. Well, that’s convenient, isn’t it?

angry-white-dudeSawyer definitely has the hots for Kate. Who doesn’t? The only problem is he is annoying and she likes Jack.

More to come. On to episode 8 (barely!)
