Wow! what a difference an episode makes… In episode 1 I didn’t mention “the Shrapnel Guy” because I was sure that he was insignificant – just another future dead guy. I mean who survives a tail wing stuck in their gut? What was I thinking? Why waste air time on someone unless they are coming back in a future episode. Note to self, pay attention! Sooo…

Thanks to the power of flashbacks we discover some of Kate’s backstory and her relationship to  ”the guy sitting next to me” on the plane, a.k.a. “Shrapnel Guy.” (see below)

The obligatory “Angry White Dude” emerges after scuffling with Said and later shoots a polar bear in the jungle using a gun he pulled off the “shrapnel guy.” He is part of a small posse that treks up the mountain to get better response on their radio only to discover a 16 year old message from someone who had been lost there before. They start to realize that they are doomed. It’s going to be a long series.

Read the profile updates below for more progress,  relationships, and corrections.

jack-aJack continues to show off his doctoring skills by removing the shrapnel from the guy who was sitting next to Kate on the plane. He is emerging as pack leader.

kate-aWe learn Kate’s backstory and it’s a doozy! She is a convicted criminal. We aren’t sure what she did, though. She was traveling in handcuffs with “the Shrapnel Guy.” Knowing Hollywood, we probably will discover that she was either innocent of her crimes or justified in doing what she did.

fatguy-aI still don’t know the fat guy’s name but he continues to be a friend to everyone.

angry-white-dudeThe “Angry White Dude” finally emerged. (You know there was bound to be one.) This guy thinks that Said is a terrorist and is responsible for the plane crash. They had a fist fight.

shrapnel-dudeShrapnel dude is either a marshall or bounty hunter that was escorting Kate on the plane. I am not sure what his name is but judging by his behavior I’d call him “dick.”

jenna-a1CORRECTION: The person I called Jenna is actually named “Sharon.” (I think) The cute lifeguard is also her brother, not her boyfriend. She was part of the team that climbed the mountain to test the radio. Apparently she lived in France and may or may not be able to speak French. Right about now I think she is regretting not eating the chocolate bar from episode 1.

back-childThe black child was traveling with his father following the death of his mother in Australia. He is looking for his dog “Vincent” who was also on the plane.

charlie-aCharlie is a drug addict. He was stashing his junk in the toilet when the plane came down.

asian-guyThe Japanese man appears to be a sushi chef and is suddenly nice to everyone except his wife.

orange-man-aOrange peel man plays backgammon and befriends the little boy. He is still creepy.

Almost everyone seems to have a secret about themselves.

On to episode 3…
