This episode was a bit lackluster and predictable, but here are the key moments… Jack and Hurley (previously known as “the fat guy”) discovered that Kate is a criminal after “the Shrapnel Guy” came out of his coma and steered them to her mugshot conveniently located in his jacket pocket that for some reason he still had despite being flung out of an airplane with a piece of steel sticking out of his gut.
Meanwhile Said tells the group that discovered the 16 year old message of doom that they must not tell the rest of the group about it. He wants them to still have hope, (and that’s change we can believe in.)
Also, the Orange Peel man carves a dog whistle and finds Vincent. The boy learns that his name is “Mr Lock.” Mr Lock shares this secret with him; “A miracle happened.” C’mon we need a better secret than that!
After Sawyer (previously known as “the Angry white dude”) shoots “Shrapnel dude” in a failed attempt to put him out of his misery, Jack tells Kate that he doesn’t want to know about her life before the crash. He says “It doesn’t matter what we did before this…” Hmmnnn. wonder what he’s hiding?
The episode ends with everyone feeling pretty good about life in a hit TV show, but ends with a closeup of Mr Lock, so you know this sappiness will only be temporary, thank god!

So I finally figured out the fat guy’s name; “Hurley.” Um, I think that this is an homage to “Curly,” the fat guy from the 3 stooges. Hurley listens to CDs on a vintage CD player. What year does this take place in??? I am telling you it is a dream.
CORRECTION: The woman I previously called Jenna and then Sharon is really called Shannon (or possibly Shane.) I gotta stop drinking and watching at the same time.
Not sure if this was in E2 or E3 but Said is a communications expert in the Republican Guard. Every Island needs a professor.
The Japanese wife was caught bathing semi-nakedly in the jungle by the Black guy. Those 2 will definitely get together later on. Frankly, I think they make a nice couple.
